Joshua Nicholas White

Our beautiful son, Joshua “Josh” Nicholas White, of Gresham, Oregon took his own life on Sunday, September 18, 2016. He was 25 years old. He was born in Portland, Oregon to Nick and Kelly White. Josh enjoyed being outdoors, working on electronics, as well as working on family vehicles with his father and sister. He was especially loving and kind to his mother. He had an adventurous spirit with little fear.

Josh had also struggled with depression and addiction for quite some time. He had taken steps towards recovery and health by spending some time in a treatment facility for drug addiction. This led to his being able to repair many strained relationships. Unfortunately, this was not enough. His struggles eventually became more than he could bear. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the fortune of seeing his beautiful smile.

Josh is loved deeply, and is survived by his daughter Melanie of Portland; his parents Nick and Kelly, and his sister Brenna White of Portland. He also leaves his maternal grandparents Bob and Linda Paine of Portland; paternal grandmother Lois O’Connor of Castle Rock, WA; paternal grandfather Joe White of Dyersburg, TN; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
