Kenneth Wayne Grimm

Ken was born June 12, 1948, and passed away on August 27, 2024. He was born in Topeka, Kansas to Melvin and Claryce Grimm. He grew up in Spokane, WA. He graduated from North Central High School in 1966 then received his graduate degree from W.S.U. in Architectural Engineering. After graduating from college, he settled in Portland, OR. He worked for several architectural and engineering firms; he also traveled for work to many places. He lived and worked in Hawaii for 3 years and traveled to many countries sharing his expertise and talents.

Sailing was a passion he shared with a crew of his friends spending extended time cruising the west coast. The ocean was his favorite "go-to" spot. Living so close to the coast, he spent countless hours enjoying its serenity and fresh seafood.

Ken fought endlessly the last several years through many health issues always managing to survive them somehow. He kept a positive attitude when trying to deal with the adversities they brought.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Scott Grimm. Ken is survived by his wife Cathy and son Derek. He is also survived by his brother Alan Grimm (Val) and two sisters: Gloria Updike (Steve), Melinda Monroe (Charlie). He is survived by many nieces and one nephew, Brandon Grimm (Deann). His great-nephew Spencer and great-niece Hazel Rose held a special place in his heart. He will be greatly missed.
