A Recitation of the Rosary & Funeral Mass will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church, 1260 NE 132nd Ave, Portland, Oregon 97230, on May 28, 2026, at 11:00 am.
LeRoy Myron Miller was born on September 10, 1939, in Ridgefield, Washington. He went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 15, 2026 after a battle with cancer. He was 86 years old.
LeRoy lived his entire life in the Portland/Vancouver area and graduated from Franklin High School in 1957. He served as a Radarman on the USS Boxer in the United States Navy, and then used the GI Bill to go to school for two years at Portland State. He then transferred to Oregon State for one year.
On August 14, 1965, LeRoy married the love of his life, Barbara Morris. They had three kids together (Kevin in 1966, Douglas in 1969, and Jana in 1971.) Construction of their new home in the Parkrose-area was completed in the summer of 1971, and LeRoy lived there with Barbara until he passed.
For his profession, LeRoy was a Computer Analyst and Computer Programmer. Though he worked long hours, he was devoted to his wife and children and their interests. When his kids became interested in sports, LeRoy learned about those sports so that he could coach and officiate. He took up running in the mid-80s and over the course of the rest of his life, he ran more than 50 marathons and half marathons. He was also very interested in his family’s genealogy, and traced his family’s lineage back as far as the 14th century.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the St. Vincent de Paul-St. Therese Chapter, where LeRoy volunteered from the time of his retirement until he passed.
LeRoy is survived by his wife Barbara, his children Kevin (Julie), Doug (December), and Jana McCallum (Patrick), eight grandchildren, and his sister Carolyn Folz.
