Lora married her husband, Irvin McClain, on October 31, 1964 in Reno. In 1974, they moved to Corbett, where she worked as a Teacher’s Aide for the Corbett School District. In November of 2000, Irvin passed away. In 2004, Lora moved to her condo in Gresham, where she lived until her passing.
Lora had many hobbies and interests. She took many vacations with her family over the years. They enjoyed excursions to the Bahamas, Mexico, Hawaii, Las Vegas, the Oregon Coast and Disneyland. During these trips, many special memories were made, and many pictures were taken that Lora hung on the walls of her condo. She enjoyed spending time with her family and she would always bake delicious desserts for them, and cook wonderful meals. She loved shopping, watching the Hallmark Channel, playing Skipbo, keeping current on world events, gardening and eating at Olive Garden and Red Robin. She always decorated her home for the holidays, especially Christmas.
Lora will forever be remembered as a kind hearted, humble woman with a deep love for her family. She was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Her granddaughter fondly recalls how she would take her to swim practice and the park when she was younger, and would always have a delicious snack waiting for her. She had an extensive collection of figurines and smashed pennies. She was also quite spontaneous. At the age of 70 during a trip with her granddaughter to Hawaii, she got a tattoo of the Hawaiian Hibiscus Flower!
Lora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Irvin McClain Jr. She is survived by her son, Collen McClain; and four grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held on February 9, 2019 at 3 pm at 14446 se 186th Ave Damascus, OR 97089.
