Loran graduated from David Douglas High School. He served his country in the United States Army for 11 years, serving in Viet Nam, and received a purple heart.
Loran worked for 35 years as a mechanic for Freightliner.
Loran enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, RV traveling and woodworking. He was a good family man.
Loran is survived by his five children, Shawn, Cory, Anita, Kevin and Duane Dieter, plus his two sisters, Cheryl Hoke and Cheri Sorrell, and his many grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Donations may be given to the Kidney Association of Oregon.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 1-5 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon. Private graveside service will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
