

Marian Patricia Arent of Gresham, OR passed away after a long illness, and went into the loving arms of our Lord on Saturday, December 23rd. She was ninety years old.
Marian Patricia Arent, or known to many as “Pat” was born April 2nd, 1933 in Wausau, Wisconsin to mother Mildred Bentley and father Elmer Booth. At the age of ten, her family moved her, and her two younger siblings from Wisconsin to the Pacific Northwest, they made their homestead in Tillamook, OR.
In a life well lived, she raised two children by herself, and at age fifty she re-educated herself to enter a new career in Portland, OR selling insurance, and finally, estate planning. Her Lutheran Church and faith were integral to her life and to her values. Marian was the 1st female state representative of Good Shepard Home of the West. She was a board member for twelve years. She also was involved with her local Humane Society.
Marian was preceded in death by her son, Richard H. Tate following his long battle with leukemia. She is survived by her loving daughter, Diane Schoniger, her daughter-in-law, Diane Tate, and many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
Services for Marian will be at a later date at her church, Christ of the Vine Church in Damascus, OR. She was a loyal member of the church for twenty-five years.
