As the days pass since my sweet brother passed away, memories of our life experiences growing up flood my thoughts.The pain in my heart is intense but the fond memories of the laughter and growing pains we went through together help me cope. We had almost 50 years together and I am so thankful to have had the relationship I did with Mark. We seemed to help each other through rough times more as friends than siblings. We were 1 1/2 years apart in age so we went through alot of life's learning together. Mark always had a gentle sweet soul and he was a people magnet. When I moved here to Oregon at 19, Mark had already been living here with our parents and youngest brother Matt for about a year. He new I would have difficulty adjusting to a new environment and took me under his wing by letting me hang out with him everywhere he went and introduced me to all of his new friends. He never left me out and always looked out for me. He was an angel on earth then, and now he's an even more magnificent angel in another place.I love him so much and will never lose him in my heart and soul. He is as much a part of me now as he ever was. I thank my Mom and Dad for keeping Mark safe at home after his brain trauma and for letting me be an important part of his care over the past 26 years.Fly free forever my Brother.....all my love, Patti

Like few, I was privileged to know Mark prior to his accident. We met in 1980 and became fast friends. We spent countless hours together as young men playing hackey sack, frisbee and listening to music while hanging out at the park (with the girls!). We had many adventurous trips to Mt Hood skiing and laying in the sun tanning on the big boulders with snow all around us. Mark was a great skier and all around athlete. As a person he was shy, sensitive, warm, caring and considerate of others. I was so impressed by his devotion to his sister Patty and their beautiful bond and sincere love for each other. He fiercely protected and watched over her. The three of us developed a life long love and friendship with many shared laughs and memories which will last a lifetime. He was a100% loyal friend. When I had my accident, which put me in the hospital for two months, Mark came to visit me everyday; we would have lunch in the courtyard or he would take me out on day trips. I always felt at ease with him and at times we both forgot that I was injured. He had that affect on me. When he had his accident, I went to see him. We lost part of Mark that day but somehow found our connection and memories again. I would retell the stories of the past to him and he would still build up to his laughing fits like we used to have (we laughed a lot). I know he remembered! I was honored to be included in his family and thankful for their acceptance and kindness to my wife Anna as well. Our hearts are heavy this week as we recount the many happy times spent. We are deeply saddened when we think of the loss to all of us, especially his dear family whom we love. Our deep thanks to Patty for her love and care for Mark. I know it wasn't easy and I know how much you lost but I also know how grateful Mark was to have you there all this time. No one could ask for a better sister. Our admiration and respect for Mike and Shirley and their family is more than words can express. Your steadfast example of unconditional love, courage in the face of tragedy, and strong example of family commitment will never be forgotten. You not only provided Mark the basics of care, you provided a  full life as well, filled with consideration, comforts, warmth, trips and experiences he enjoyed and the best things in life. A Great friend, I met Mark at Clackamas park near his Fiat X 1/9(cool car for a k00L Mark). Well you know what comes next~the activity\;] we joined together to play Hackey-Sack, well as some of you may know I soon found out that Mark was a great player with patience and of course style. Well that led to many other outings and to no surprise he was a great Frisbee player. over the years we hung out until I was off to an adventure with the military, thats where the other guy comes in~no really my brother and Mark really hit it off and of course my brother was a great frisbee player along with many other similarities that made them great friends for a very long time. Mark you've been missed, and I pray the best for you and your family, GOD Bless.

I was lucky enough to have known mark. He was truly a great friend. I am saddened by his death but glad he is fully healed and with god now.

Dear Sansone Family,
     May God bless you very specially as you release your son Mark into His hands for all Eternity.  Each of you has been such a witness to what it means to love and care for a loved one without counting the cost.  Your presence at St. Henry's with Mark has meant so much.  It was always a privilege to sit near you and share in the joy and sorrow that you were experiencing.
     I cannot be with you for the funeral Mass because of my work, but I will surely remember you very specially in prayer  on that day and throughout the coming weeks.
