

The 6th of 7 children, Mark was born June 12, 1963 at St. Bernardine’s Hospital in San Bernardino, California. He spent his childhood and early teen years in Rialto, California and later moved with his family to Portland, Oregon.
He was a student at PCC. An avid swimmer, Mark held records at PCC in the backstroke. He worked at Weyerhaeuser Co., and did some fashion modeling.
Mark had a very bright future until May 14, 1987, when he became a victim of a medical accident leaving him severely brain damaged and physically handicapped. Living at home and with the loving, dedicated care of family and professional caregivers, Mark survived and thrived another 25 years. He brought joy and humor to all who knew him.
Approximately 2 years ago, he was diagnosed with cancer. He was a quiet, graceful warrior and a shining example for all of us.
He is survived by his father and mother, Michael and Shirley Sanzone; sisters, Michelle (spouse Larry), Nannette (spouse Greg),
Jeanette, Patricia (spouse Mike); brothers, Michael (spouse Mel), Mathew (spouse Laura); 12 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life Mass will be held Wednesday, April 3 at 11:00 a.m., St. Henry Church, 346 NW 1st St, Gresham, OR. Private interment at Lincoln Memorial park.
