Norma passed away at her home in Oregon City from natural causes just 17 days short of her 96th birthday. She was born on October 27, 1924, in Wallace, Idaho, to parents Elmer and Rose Forell. She grew up in Silver City and on The Gila in New Mexico prior to moving to Wilbur, Oregon, at age 11. Norma graduated from Roseburg High School.
Norma married Edward A. Sindt in San Diego, California, on July 29, 1943, and they divorced in 1965. They had one daughter. She had a brief marriage to William Hunley from 1968-1971. Norma married LeRoy David Bell December 29, 1972, and they were married for 35 years until his death in 2007.
Norma worked at Omark Industries in the 1970s and 80s where she enjoyed lasting friendships with many of her co-workers. She was always up for adventure trips with her daughter and especially enjoyed a trip with her cousin Belle to Italy, Santorini and Croatia. In her retirement, you could always find her in the garden tending to her flowers.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, older sister Yvonne Hunter, and her husband Dave. She is survived by her younger sister Joan Correll of Washougal, Washington, daughter Sandra Carpenter of Oregon City, Oregon, stepson Steve Bell of LaPine, Oregon, and her nieces and nephews.
As per her request, there will be no service. She will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery. She will always be remembered as the greatest mother a daughter could have.
