Patricia Ann Lucas Ferguson, lovingly known as Pat, was born on December 9, 1938 in Portland, Oregon to Dorothy Jean Buchanan Lucas and Wayne Howard Lucas. She grew up alongside her sister Marlene Lucas, attending Sellwood Elementary School. She graduated from Washington High School in 1957.
Pat’s cousin introduced her to Clyde Ferguson, whom she married September 17th of 1960, and together they were blessed with three children: Jeffrey, Gregory, and Joyce. Pat dedicated herself to being a homemaker until she decided to work various jobs to support their family's vacations and trips to track meets. She worked at a farm, a nursing home as an activity coordinator, and held various secretarial positions. For many years, she served as the church secretary at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church, where she found great joy in her work.
After retiring, Pat and Clyde relocated to Otis, Oregon, where they enjoyed 19 years of peaceful living. In Otis, they became active members of St. James Episcopal Church, in Lincoln City. Pat devoted several years to running a program there that provided meals for the homeless. She was known for her energetic and compassionate nature, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Pat and Clyde enjoyed years of gathering with friends, supporting their grandchildren in activities, and traveling near and far to visit family and friends.. In 2015, due to health concerns, Pat and Clyde returned to Gresham. In these years, Pat dedicated herself to caring for her husband Clyde, who passed away in 2018, and her sister Marlene, who passed away in 2021.
Patricia Lucas Ferguson passed away on July 13, 2024. A memorial service will be held on August 10th at 10am at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church in Gresham, where she had spent many years serving the church community.
