Peri Wynne Russell Kurth

Peri was born on July 28, 1937 in Portland, Oregon and was the daughter of Wynne and Norma (Crosby) Russell. She grew-up in the Laurelhurst District and graduated from Grant High School.

On August 9, 1958, Peri married Robert J. Kurth at Sacred Heart Church in Portland, Oregon. She worked at the telephone company for a few years but found her true calling as a wife and a mother. They moved to East County in 1958 and returned to Portland in 1968. She enjoyed gardening, trips to the beach and old time radio shows.

Peri was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her world. She treasured moments spent with her children and grandchildren and made every task that concerned them a gesture of love. She made some of the best school lunches, the healthiest breakfasts and did everything in her power to cheer at every baseball game her grandsons played in. She was generous and giving and had more than enough love to go around. Peri made every family gathering and holiday special and she made some of the best Chex Mix one has ever tasted. She touched many lives in her 74 years and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Peri is survived by her Husband, Robert Kurth, Son, Daniel Kurth (wife, Celeste, grandsons, Jacob, Jered, Isaac), Daughter, Teresa Letcher (husband, Jack), Daughter, Diane Macomber (Husband, Dave, granddaughter, Melody), Daughter, Susan Swearengin (husband, George, grandson, Kyle, Luke) and Sister, Angie Eubanks.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 10:30 am at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made in memory of Peri to the American Cancer Society or the Children’s Cancer Association Dream Catcher Wish Program.
