Honest, helpful & organized are just a few of the many words used to describe Pphaen Sayre, 92, of Portland. Pphaen was born Nov 18, 1922 to Pphaen & Mary(Tyler) Sayre. He was raised in Portland with his brother Lowell and he joined the military shortly after graduating high school. Pphaen worked for the Telephone Co. and retired after 35 years. Pphaen had many hobbies and really lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities. He was also a member of the American Legion, Model T Club and Save the Boat PT Club. Family was also very important to him and his most joyous moments were spent with them. Pphaen is survived by his wife of 70 years, JoAnn; children, Cathy(Vicki), Trudy(Dick), Tyler(Kenna), Curt(LeAnne); 13 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Pphaen will be laid to rest in Willamette National Cemetery, at 10:00 AM Monday Feb 9th. In lieu of flowers make a donation to www.savetheptboatinc.com in memory if Pphaen Sayre.
