Rhonda attended Florida State University, where she excelled both academically and athletically. She achieved the prestigious honor of being named an All-American in both basketball and volleyball—an accomplishment that spoke to her discipline, talent, and competitive spirit.
She later married Robert Keith Smith, and together they raised three children. Rhonda was ambitious and goal-oriented, always striving to create the best opportunities for her family. Her determination led them to Portland, Oregon, where she pursued a promising career and continued to build a better future.
Those who knew Rhonda will remember her not only for her accomplishments but also for her radiant personality. She carried herself with grace and poise, yet her hint of sass and quick humor made her a joy to be around. Her family had the privilege of witnessing many of her proudest moments—such as walking across the stage to receive her master’s degree.
Professionally, Rhonda dedicated much of her career to helping others. She spent many years as an insurance agent with American Family Insurance before continuing her career as an Account Manager at Volkswagen, where she eventually retired. In every role, she was respected for her professionalism, integrity, and compassion.
Above all, Rhonda will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, auntie and friend. Her legacy of love, laughter, and perseverance will continue to inspire all who had the honor of knowing her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Keith Smith; her beloved children, Rianna Smith, Robert Keith Smith Jr., Shardai Ducksworth; and her cherished siblings, Michael Petty and Valeria (Bobby)Haynes. She also leaves behind two grandchildren; Elijah Smith & Zayden Smith, who were the light of her life, along with a host of extended family and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
