Bob was born in Hettinger, ND in 1933. His family moved to Oregon a few years later. Bob served in the Army from 1955 through 1956. He was predominately a forester by profession, and worked in varied interdisciplinary positions during his 36 years with the US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. His work in Oregon, Colorado, Washington DC and Alaska positively impacted many coworkers and the public. He was an avid fisherman, voracious reader, dog lover, creative cook & baker and tended a pretty good bar along with a dry sense of humor. His retirement in 1991 added an RV to the household and he had many memorable trips with family and friends throughout the PNW and Alaska. His fishing interests continued in the PNW and Alaska, Christmas Island, Costa Rica and Mexico.
