Bob was born June 22, 1930, in Portland, and lived his entire life in the Gresham area. He grew up on a farm with his parents, Clay and Ruth Miller, his sister Barbara and brother Richard. He graduated Gresham High School in 1948. He attended Oregon State University briefly, but it was long enough to make him a Beaver fan for life.
He went to work for Pacific Northern Airlines (later Alaska Airlines) as a ticket agent. When the company was bought out, he left to go into data processing. He was a data analyst for Evans Products Co. in Portland until it closed in the 1980s. Later he became an Enrolled Agent and prepared individual income tax returns.
Bob married Donna Crothers in 1952, and would have celebrated 68 years of marriage on August 17. She survives him, along with their four daughters: Lisa (Paul), Kathy (Mark), Laura (Mark), and Cheryl (Buzz), eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara McCoy, and is survived by his brother Rich.
