Robert Lee “Bob” Oslund, of Gresham, Oregon, died Thursday, Dec 6th, 2018 at age 83 after fighting an illness over the past year. Bob passed peacefully, surrounded by his children and grandchildren at the time of his death.
Best remembered as a career educator, school administrator, coach and world traveler, Bob honorably served 8-years in the US Navy and earned multiple advanced collegiate degrees. Bob's infectious sense of humor, supernatural connection with kids and never-ending love for his children and grandchildren were his hallmark.
Born in North Portland to Oscar and Edna, Bob is survived by his wife and cherished travel companion, Arlene, children Lance (Amy), Kerry (Mary Ann), and Kelley (Paul), beloved grandchildren, and extended family. The Oslund family extends gratitude to his many friends, students, players and other characters who enriched the stories of his adventurous life.
Military honors burial will take place at Willamette National Cemetery Tuesday, Dec. 18th, 1:30 p.m. Please arrive by 1pm and check in at the cemetery office for directions. A Celebration of Life service will be held the same day, Tuesday, December 18th at 5:00 pm at Gordon Russel Middle School in Gresham OR. All are welcome and if you have pictures to share of Bob's life, we will have a table available to lay out photos. Please arrive no earlier that 4:45pm due to the school day ending.
