Ronald Arthur Eicher was born on July 16, 1938 in Yakima, Washington to Dan and Alpha Eicher. The family later moved to Portland, Oregon where Ron graduated from Benson Tech High School in 1956.
Ron outwardly chose to serve God at a young age, a choice that he kept all of his life and that brought great peace and joy to his heart. This choice touched the lives of his family and friends.
In 1959 Ron married Sonja "Sunny" Olson. Ron offered Sunny a trip to Hawaii or they could buy 10 acres of land in the woods 8 miles east of Sandy to one day build a home. She chose the land. Their children have been forever thankful for that choice. They were raised with a love for the things of nature. Ron was a carpenter all of his life and took great pride in his work. Ron lost his dear Sunny to cancer in 1997 after 38 years of marriage. Ron married Faye Vollmer in 1998 and retired shortly thereafter. Faye and Ron shared 24 years together in their home in Sandy before God called Faye home on March 3rd of this year, 20 days before Ron's call on March 23rd.
