Ronald James Illies, 70 of Troutdale, passed away December 24, 2014. He was born in Monticello, Minnesota on July 1, 1944 to Sebastian and Regina (Weiler) Illies. Ronald served in US Navy following high school and spent 30 years working for IBM as a precious metals handler. Generous, humble and comical are just a few of the many words used to describe Ronald. He was known for making those around him laugh and he loved to call the shots. He also enjoyed fishing, playing card games and chess. Ronald was also very patriotic and proud of his service in the U.S. Navy. Ronald is survived by his children, Kevin (Robin) and Todd; grandchildren, Kyle, Ashley, Amanda, Cassandra, and Samantha; and great grandchildren, Jaylon and Adaya.
