The son of an Air Force family, Scott grew up on military bases all over the United States and world. The family finally settled in Rialto, California where Scott graduated in 1972 from Pacific High School in San Bernardino, California. After graduation Scott enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country proudly for four years including his time during the war in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged after his service.
After Scott returned to Rialto, he attended San Bernardino Valley College where he earned an A.A. degree. He then worked as assistant manager in retail. Scott was married for a brief time to a lovely lady named Angel. He loved collecting baseball cards and comic books. In the late 1990's Scott moved to Portland, Oregon. It was about this time that Scott began to have medical problems. The later years of his life were spent at Regency Gresham Convalescent Hospital until his death.
Scott was preceeded in death by his parents Glen and Lillian Laughlin. He is survived by his brothers, Ronald (Valerie) Cashmer, Frederick Mayes, a sister, Glenda Laughlin along with nephews Justin, Jared and Jeffrey Cashmer and Nathan Laughlin.
