Sharlene Louise Fandrey passed away peacefully in her sleep April 8, 2022, at her home of nearly 60 years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. She possessed a kind and generous heart and was always there to lend a helping hand, not only to her family, but friends and neighbors as well. Sharlene met and married her lifelong and beloved partner, Irv, in 1963. They were blessed with two daughters and their priority was to provide for and give them every opportunity they could. Irv, Sharlene, and the girls enjoyed many beach trips to the home of their much-loved “Grandpa and Grandma Wolf”. Over the last 50 years this home has continued to be that special place for her close-knit family, which included two dearly loved sons-in-law, to gather, reminisce, play, and enjoy the beautiful ocean view. Her family and her children were her world. Sadly, Irv passed away in 2008 after a four-year battle with cancer. Sharlene was ever present and nursed, humored, and tenderly cared for her dear soulmate. With the support of her children, she was able to make the transition from being a couple to living alone. Her strong and disciplined nature, her passion for gardening and conversations with her very best friend and sister, Debbie Shipps, got her through some sad and lonely times. Just as she lovingly nurtured her family, she also tended to her garden with great care and devotion. She could lose all track of time working tirelessly to perfect her vision. Her spirit is still present in her garden and remains a beautiful expression of her soul. Sharlene is survived by daughters Carrie McHale and Kelly Brown, sons-in law Chris McHale and Chris Brown and sister, Debbie Shipps. A Celebration of Life open house will be held at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham on May 5, 2022, from 11-2pm.
