Sidney Gorton

Sidney was born in Kalispell, MT To Harrison and Ora (Butterfield) Gorton. He passed away in Portland. Si, a Portland resident since 1946 moved to Gresham five years ago. He graduated in 1939 from Flathead County High School in Kalispell, MT. He went to business school in Portland.

Sidney served his country in the US Army during WWII in the South Pacific and was a member of the 41st Division Band. Sidney married Monty Gunderson on Jan. 13, 1946 in Camas, WA. He worked in the heating and refrigeration supply business for most of his working life.

Hobbies included gardening, hunting, fishing, golfing (after retirement), RV-ing in his motor home, and music, where he played trumpet in dance bands.

Survivors include his wife Monty, of Gresham, OR.,two daughters, Charmalee (Craig) Drew, of Kalispell, MT., Karen (Robin) Lapeyre, of Gresham, OR., two grandchildren, Jocelynn and Brianna Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jim and Jack, and his sister Marge.

Memorial service will be on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 at 2 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham.
