

Sigurd was born on May 28, 1940 in Laird, Saskatchewan, Canada and was the son of Pastor Gustav and Hilde (Guenther)Voellm. He, with his parents and sisters moved to Cleveland, Ohio where all the family became U.S. citizens, and then to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He worked as a Sealtest Milkman in Philadelphia and subsequently was employed with Rohm and Haas Chemical Company in Philadelphia. The job took him to California and then to Oregon with his wife Dianne where he was able to work from home as an Environmental/Compliance Auditor for hazardous waste disposal sites for the company. He became skilled in building decks and pergolas for his three sisters. He was an avid golfer and a member of the "Slice of Life" golf group. Upon retirement he worked at Gresham Golf Course and Stone Creek Golf Course where he could be involved in the sport he so loved.
Sigurd is survived by his wife, Dianne (Archer) Voellm, his two children, Eric Scott and Shannon Adrienne Voellm of Texas; his sisters, Monika Voellm Deitchman with husband, Carl, Linde Voellm Eidenberg and husband, Peter and Elisabeth Voellm Hagans and husband, Rex; two grandchildren, Izabele and Katy Voellm as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews whom he loved and who made him smile and laugh. Lastly he is survived by the extended Voellm Family in Germany and his many golfing friends who became like his family.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 10:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gresham. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 20, 2010 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the Oregon Humane Society or Trinity Lutheran Church.
