

“I am the richest man on earth” and “All you need is love, love is all you need” – are a few of the many quotes Steve would echo during his lifetime. These words are just a few of the many statements used when describing Steve and how he lived his life.
Stephen Francis Farrell, 60, passed away, Tuesday, July 26, 2016 in Portland, Oregon surrounded by members of his family.
Steve was born on January 24, 1956 in Portland to Francis James and Doris Jorand (Haugner) Farrell. Steve attended St. Peters’ Catholic Grade School and John C. Marshall High School. He met the love of his life, Laura, while their children were attending the same preschool. They got married on September 26, 1985 and together they raised four children, Jennifer Rose, Andrew, Jenny and Katie.
Steve worked for over 20 years on the railroad, eventually becoming an Engineer. This was his dream ever since he was a child, he wanted to work on the railroad just like his father.
Dreamer, sentimental, great sense of humor, unforgettable laugh, family man, old soul, caring, and tender hearted are just a few of the many words used to describe Steve. He was also very patriotic and proud to be an American. As for hobbies he enjoyed; reading the Oregonian daily, history, watching old movies and the Looney Tunes, and spending time and creating memories with his family.
Steve is survived by his wife, Laura, of 30 years; and four children and their spouses, Jennifer Rose (Chris), Andrew, Jenny (Paul), and Katie. He is also survived by his siblings, James (Cheryl), Greg (Leslie), Peter (Debbie) & Glenn. Steve also loved and cherished his five grand children, Aidan, Liam, Vella, Tullulah, & Arynn and his dog Teddie. Steve will remain unforgettable in the hearts of all that knew him.
