Sue Allyson Campbell passed away in the home she shared with her sister, Michaela Ghioni, and her husband, Louis Ghioni, on April 16, 2021, from heart failure. She was 63-years young. Sue was born in Lincoln, NB, to John Ronald Campbell Sr. and Margaret Wetmore. She lost her father at an early age, and a child, Michael, shortly after birth.
Sue is survived by her children Ian, Ashley, Timothy, and Christian, her 10 brothers and sisters, and her mother, Margaret. She was also survived by 2 grandchildren, Jakob and Cadence, and a third grandchild named Hank on the way.
Sue held dual citizenship between Canada and the USA. She worked in both countries in various employment sectors such as transportation, driving different passenger vehicles from school buses to public transit. She worked as a long-haul trucker carrying freight across America. She also worked on the frontlines with children with special needs in a residential care facility. Sue similarly worked in the hospitality industry in front-of-house positions in hotels and restaurants, and co-operated a coffee shop with a former spouse.
Sue's passions were reflected in the relationships she held most dear. She was a Grandma, Sister, Aunty, Cousin, Fairy-princess, but most of all a proud member of the Mama-Llama-drama club—a reflection of her most meaningful role as a Mother for all.
Suzy, a nickname longer than her actual name, was never afraid to be herself – a bandana-wearing hippy whose long silvery hair cascaded down past her shoulders. She was a lover of all things whimsical with a deep and profound love of show tunes.
Suzy learned much about life from the challenges she faced as a child and early adult. She never allowed her early childhood experiences to define her life. She was always a source of comfort and quick with a kind word or gesture for others, even subordinating her own wishes to those of others.
Sue resonated at a higher level of consciousness and adopted a selfless approach to life, making her an expert empathic practitioner. She believed everyone had value and beauty. She once wrote, "What is Love but the power to heal oneself and others. It is the answer that dispels all fears and brings sweet repose to the Heart."
Suzy will be cremated by Bateman Carroll. Her final wishes were to celebrate life, which the family will announce in the next few months once a location and date have been chosen. We hope you will join us in remembering our beautiful fairy-mother called back to her enchanted forest.
Please feel free to share your favorite Suzy stories and consider joining us in a very un-Suzy event, where we will spread her ashes and celebrate the overwhelming impact, she's had on all of our lives as we celebrate all things, Suzy. In place of flowers, please watch for future information regarding donations to a close-to-heart charity.
