A Celebration of Life service will be held to honor Terri’s vibrant spirit and enduring legacy: on August 22, 2026 at 11:00 am, Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W Powell Blvd, Gresham, Oregon 97030
Terri Lee, a fiercely loyal wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully after a courageous, hard-fought eight-month battle with throat cancer. She was the absolute glue of her family, managing a vibrant household with unique organization, love, and a signature touch of sassiness for those fortunate enough to know her deeply.
A Life of Love, Logic, and Adventure
Terri’s journey with her husband of 43 years, John, began unexpectedly at a company Halloween party. That festive meeting sparked a romance that led to their marriage the following year on December 18th. Together, they built a life that took them from San Diego to Los Angeles, and ultimately to Oregon. Professionally, Terri was highly versatile, transitioning from corporate Comptroller to special education, and eventually managing two college bookstores.
While John focused on business and corporate travel, Terri masterfully ran the household. She managed the bills, raised their daughters, and meticulously planned every holiday, birthday, and vacation. She was a natural explorer who traveled the world alongside John—adventuring through Italy, Greece, Germany, England, Japan, Mexico, Turkey, Cuba, and the Caribbean.
A Devoted Mother and Creator of Memories
Terri shared a unique, deeply special bond with each of her three daughters. Together as a group, and on special one-on-one trips, they explored Oregon, Hawaii, Mexico, and toured historic old mansions throughout the American South.
At home, Terri poured her creativity into cooking. A cooking show or culinary competition was almost always playing on TV while she experimented with new recipes and mastered global cuisines. She also loved the thrill of the hunt while shopping—especially scouting antique stores or finding the perfect gifts for others, a task so close to her heart that her Christmas shopping routinely began in June and concluded by November.
Family and Legacy
Terri is survived by her devoted husband, John Lee Jr.; her beloved daughters, Julie Lee, Jamie Clifford and Ashleigh Lee; her sister, Joan Rossi; her brother, Vic Scavarda; and her spoiled Boston Terrier, Lincoln (fondly remembered as her little "Boston Terrorist"). She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine Parr; her stepfather, Ralph Parr; her father, Rolland Scavarda; and her brother, Don Scavarda.
