Wes was born on June 27, 1935, in Mount Ayr, Iowa and spent most of his adult life in Portland, OR. In 1961, Wes enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country in Alaska, California, Rhode Island, Antarctica, Vietnam, and Taiwan. After leaving the Navy in 1969, he owned a gas station, a tavern and enjoyed a successful career in real estate. Wes was blessed with four beautiful children, Robert, Nikie, Joann and Linda, two granddaughters Kimberly and Brittany as well as great grandchildren Austin and Luca. He and Peggy were happily married for 66 years. Wes will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his country, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
