Thomas Michael “Tom” O’Malley, a resident of Gresham, Oregon, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, surrounded by his family. Tom was born in 1951 in Illinois and later relocated to the Pacific Northwest.
Tom was above all a man who cared deeply about family, and a huge part of his identity was being a devoted Dad and Grandpa. He enjoyed a dedicated, decades-long career in the construction and hospitality industries. Outside of his professional life, Tom was an active youth sports coach and a passionate volunteer. He was a lifelong music enthusiast who loved attending concerts, and he treasured spending his free time outdoors—especially skiing, fishing, and creating memories with his family and close friends at the lake. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and close friends.
A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at the Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 4:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his honor may be made to The Rockwood Center for music/education programs, SMART Reading, or to an organization of the donor’s choice that supports youth reading, music, or outdoor education.
