Vernie was a graduate of Sam Barlow High School. She loved traveling to the Oregon coast, especially to Seaside. She enjoyed painting, drawing, sewing and doing crafts with her grandchildren.

Vernie was preceded in death by her sister Cynthia (Bill) McClure, mother Wilma Yaw Wilton and her father Charles Wilton.

Vernie is survived by Bruce Heim, her significant other, daughter Crystal McCourt, son Zachary McCourt, brother Phillip (Marla), brother Charles (Freddy), sister Veria (Kerry), brother Paul, granddaughter Ashlei McCourt, three grandsons, Kyron Willis, Kayson Willis, Stanley Willis, plus another granddaughter Destiny McCourt.

Memorial Service will be on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home located at 520 W. Powell Blvd. in Gresham, Oregon.
