

Jim joined the Navy at age 17; he served active duty for four years, and later on he served four years reserve. He worked 11 years as a Power Plant operator for Pacific Gas and Electric in California, and he worked for 26 years for the Corp of Engineers at Bonneville Dam in a profession that he loved. He was a member of the LTBB of Odawa Indians. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the beach, and going to casinos.
Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary. Together, they have three daughters: Yvonne (Shannon) Fetherston, Yvette (Kevin) Rehkopf, and Lori (Jeff) Pyles; as well as five grandchildren: Cassie Fetherston, Trevor and Caitlin Rehkopf, and Megan and Gabriel Pyles. He is also survived by three brothers: Jack, Virgil, and Alan; as well as Five sisters: Carol, Merle, Luella, Geneva, and Flora.
A private interment will take Place for Jim at Willamette National Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015, at 4:00 pm at Good Shepherd Community Church. In Lieu of flowers, a donation in Jim’s honor can be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America in his name.
