

Willie’s first wife was Beverly McDonald. In 1976 he married his second wife Jan Schweizer. Willie was a former member of the National Guard. Willie was a Lieutenant Fireman for District 10 in Multnomah County for 28 years. He was a long time Portland resident on the Columbia River at the Wil-Jan? Moorage. He was a member of the Eagles, Elks and Moose organizations.
Willie enjoyed hunting and fishing, boating and traveling to Reno. He loved his family.
Donations may be given to either Providence Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include three sons, Mike Nyquist, of Damascus, OR., Rick Farris of Eagle Creek, OR. And Ron Farris of Gresham, OR., six daughters, Pam Dickey of Beavercreek, OR., Diann Beaty of Portland, OR., Vickie Pottratz of Oregon City, OR., Lynne Cigler of Gresham, OR., Jo Landesiedel of Gresham, OR. And Monica Hotchkiss of Beavercreek, OR, brother Henry Nyquist of Damascus, OR., sister Dorothy Jesse of St. Helens, OR., 20 grandchildren and 13 and a half great grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be on Friday, April 2, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home located at 520 W. Powell Blvd. in Gresham, Oregon. Private inurnment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham, Oregon.
