William Lee Bolton, 96 of Vancouver WA, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021. He was born on May 2, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri to Patrick and Barbara Bolton. He graduated from Memphis Technical High School in 1943 and served in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific from 1943 to 1946. Bill received his Bachelor Degree in 1949 from the University of Tennessee.
Bill was a Special Agent with the FBI from 1954 to 1980. After retirement from the FBI he served as the Deputy Commissioner of Racing for the State of Michigan. Bill also served as Assistant Special Prosecutor-Investigator for the State of Ohio, was a lifetime member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was active in his churches.
Bill is survived by daughters Judith Ann Mulheisen (Michael) of Riverview MI, Margaret Elizabeth Taylor (Thomas Shumaker) of Battle Ground WA and Dr. Carolyn L. Bolton (Dr. Harry Ploehn) of Greenville NC; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Bill is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Margaret Ann Nave Bolton, his sister Roberta Jane Robilio (Marshall) of Memphis TN and his son-in-law Don Taylor of Battle Ground WA.
Celebrations of Bill’s Life will be planned at a later date at Riverview United Methodist Church in Riverview MI and at Salmon Creek United Methodist Church in Vancouver WA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army. Arrangements entrusted to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.
