William Lee Stroh, 88, died October 27, 2026. Born July 3, 1938, in Portland, Oregon, William was the son of Henry and Rose (Mecholke) Stroh and was raised in Portland. He was a longtime resident of Gresham, Oregon.
William was an accomplished builder whose steady hands and careful eye helped shape homes and communities across four states—throughout Portland, Oregon, as well as in California, Colorado, and North Dakota. In addition to building homes, he also built nursing homes, leaving behind work defined by diligence, skill, and a quiet pride in doing things well.
A devout Christian, William was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and his faith was a guiding presence throughout his life. He will be remembered for a kind and giving spirit—someone who consistently looked for ways to help, whether through donations to meaningful causes or by offering practical support to family and friends.
At home, William loved to tinker around in the garage, always finding something to improve, fix, or figure out. He also loved to travel, and he especially enjoyed visiting his wife’s home country of Costa Rica. He was, in every sense, her travel buddy, and his companionship on those journeys will be deeply missed.
William was also a storyteller—often beginning in the middle, weaving two or three tales together, and laughing along the way. He made others laugh, and just as often, he made himself laugh, leaving behind memories marked by warmth and good humor.
William is survived by his wife, Flora Headley; stepdaughter, Giselle Kerth; and grandsons, Alec and Jordan Marcoff.
A Committal Service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery & Mausoleum, 400 SW Walters Dr, Gresham, OR 97080, on November 5, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Charitable donations may be made to Seventh-day Adventist, Oregon Conference.
