William Andrews Tison, 93 of Gresham OR, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014. He was born on December 30, 1920 in Roseburg, Oregon to Grover Cleveland and Bertha (Andrews) Tison. William was raised in Roseburg and received his engineering degree from Oregon State University. He served in the US Navy as a first class aviation metal smith during World War II from 1942 to 1945 and also during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954. He married Elsie Mae Erwin on October 4, 1974 in North Bend, Oregon and she preceded him in death in August of 2007. William was a resident engineer for the State Highway Division of Oregon for 34 years before retiring in 1982. He has lived in Gresham since 1977 and was a member of the Gresham Moose Lodge 1037 and First Baptist Church.
William is survived by his stepson Hal Bennett of Whitefish MT and stepdaughter Bev Graham of Eugene OR. At his request, no formal services will be held. Contributions may be made as donations to Mt. Hood Hospice. Arrangements entrusted to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.
