Wilson was the third child born into a family that ultimately included 6 siblings. Around 7 years of age the family moved to Astoria, Oregon, to be near the children’s grandparents. Growing up Wilson lived in many different towns along the Oregon coast including Seaside, Manzanita, and Swenson, as well as various parts of the Portland, Oregon metro area.
At 17 years old he found a job at Mo’s Chowder House in Newport Bay, and rented his own apartment for a short time, until turning 18 and joining the Army. As he had scored high on his aptitude tests, after basic training he was placed in a Special Ops program to pull out MIA’s and POW’s from Viet Nam. His group had been “green lighted” to go on a rescue mission, but at the last minute, President Nixon signed papers terminating any more rescue flights as the US was pulling out of Viet Nam. This was crushing to the soldiers as it meant leaving 2,000 of our American GI’s with no hope of return.
In March of 1975 Wilson married his high school sweetheart, After he was honorably discharged from the Army they settled in Prineville, Oregon and together they had 3 sons. This marriage ended in 1985, and a couple years later he relocated to Portland Oregon. After 10 years as a bachelor Wilson and Pamela met at Craftsman Label Inc., where Pam had just been hired as the new receptionist. Thus began a love affair that lasted, through thick and thin, for nearly 31 years.
Wilson was extraordinarily creative and he loved art.. Due to a workman’s comp knee injury, the opportunity arose for him to attend Portland Art Institute for 2 and a half years, to learn graphic design. Other interests he had included woodworking, gardening and just living life to the fullest. Wilson loved God with all his heart, all his mind and all his soul. He shared many revelations God revealed to him with anyone who had an ear to hear.
Wilson was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Silva, his father, Donald Freimuth, and his 2 brothers Michael Freimuth and Robert.
