Alvin Statham

Alvin Statham passed away peacefully December 15, 2016. Mr. Statham was born December 30th, 1924 to the late Nellie Dodd Statham and the late Fred Statham. He was preceded in death by brothers, Richard Statham, Carson, Statham, Wilburn Statham, Charles Edward Statham and sisters Jeanette Statham,Margaret Widner, and Lucille Derrong. Mr. Statham is survived by sisters Dorothy Waller, Joan Gibson, and Becky (Perry) Presley.

Mr. Statham was a World War II Veteran serving in the Army Air Corp from November 06, 1941 to August 31, 1945. He flew 51 missions in the European Theater of Operations as an aerial photographer and a turret gunner on a B25 bomber and received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained during combat.

Alvin Statham married the late Opal Mae Craft Statham November 1945. They raised a family of 6 children, Nancy (Ronnie) Black of Griffin Georgia, Donald Statham of Griffin Georgia, the late Danny Statham and the late Sherry Statham of Griffin Georgia, Steve (Tracy) Statham of Mountain Rest South Carolina, Tracy (Gary) Mosley of McDonough Georgia, Chris (Sarah) Statham of Portland Oregon. Mr. Statham was preceded in death by his granddaughter Bridget Black and he is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. His grandchildren are Heather Statham, Lauren (Patrick) Flanagan, Ron (Shareka) Black, Jeff (Olivia) Davis, Dustin (Cindy) Statham, Nick Statham, Brook Statham, Allison Adamson, Trevor (Giselle) Adamson, Lindsay Adamson Brown, Emmitt Statham, Carson Statham. Mr. Statham’s great grandchildren are Maia Price, Maddi Price, Tristan Engelman, Nicolas Davis, Alex Davis, Meri Alyce Statham, Hayden Brown, Gabrielle Black, Gabriella Black, Christian Adamson and two great great grandchildren Kymber and Charlee Roper. Alvin Statham was a talented brick mason, builder, and business man but more importantly he loved the Lord, his family, and his country.

Visitation for Alvin Statham will be Tuesday December 20th, 2016 from 6pm to 8pm at Haisten McCullough funeral home, 1155 Everee Inn road Griffin, Georgia and funeral services will be December 21st, 2016 at 2pm in the Haisten McCullough chapel with interment at Westwood Gardens. Family and friends will gather in the Hospitality Room at Haisten McCullough for fellowship after the services. Arrangements under the direction of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home, Griffin, GA.
