Doris Carolyn Pope Walters

Ms. Walters was born March 24, 1931, daughter of the late Daniel Fredrick Pope and Katie Lou Smith Pope. She was a member of Oak Park Church.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Charles F. Walters, Jr. “Ricky”, Regina Derringer and April & David Watt; grandchildren and their spouses, Zack & Monica Blish, Christopher & Shoshana Watt, Vandy & Andrea Watt, Brian & Jessica Blish, Noah & Bethany Watt, Amber & Alex Reyna and “Elijah Nixon her McGoo”; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings and their spouses, Raymond Pope, Wesley & Martha Pope, Baron Pope, Kenneth & Martha Pope, John Pope, Loudean Pope, Richard & Beverly Pope, Juanita & Joel Rivas, Kathryn “Kathy” Mathis, Robby & Sam Pinder and Rev. Vandy & Earlanna Pope.

A funeral service for Ms. Doris Walters will be held Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the Oak Park Church, 2613 Hwy. 138E, Jonesboro, GA 30236. Rev. David Scott and Rev. Vandy Pope will officiate. Burial will follow in the College Park Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the church.
