Henry "Pete" Atwater Ferris

Mr. Ferris was born on December 15, 1929 in Garden City, N.Y. He was the son of the late Dakin Bennett and Antoinette Smith Ferris. He was an outstanding football player for Georgia Tech in the 1950’s and was inducted in the Georgia Tech Athletic Hall of Fame. Mr. Ferris managed and operated the City of Griffin golf course for over 25 years.

Survivors include his sons, Peter Fredrick Ferris and Henry Atwater Ferris Jr.; grandchildren, Amelia Ferris, Susannah Ferris, and Olivia Farrior Ferris; great grand-daughter, Lillian Ferris; sister-in-law, Joyce E. Ferris.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Henry “Pete” Atwater Ferris will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 1:00PM in Oak Hill Cemetery, 721 Memorial Drive, Griffin, Ga. All friends and relatives are ask to assemble at the graveside by 12:30PM.
