Mrs. Irene Martin Coody

Mrs. Coody was born on December 7, 1919 in Eastman, GA. She retired from Thomaston Mills after many years of service. She was known for her beautiful quilts and needlepoint that won many first place ribbons in local fairs. Mrs. Coody was a long time member of the Second Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband O.C. Coody.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Coody of Griffin, special niece and nephew Mildred and Charles Chapman. Nieces and nephews and other family also survive.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Irene M. Coody will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Westwood Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Monday, February 6, 2012 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Friends and family are ask to assemble at the graveside.
