Leila Bell

Mrs. Bell was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 29, 1922. She was the daughter of Agnes Virginia Scott Searcy and Daniel Bartlett Searcy, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Robertson Fortune and J. Newton Bell, Jr., her parents, Agnes Virginia Scott Searcy and Daniel Bartlett Searcy, Sr. and her brother, Scott Hamilton Searcy, Sr.

Survivors include her son, James Robertson Fortune, Jr. (Jan), daughter Agnes Scott Fortune,

her grandchildren, Elizabeth Ashley Fortune Whitehurst (Gary) and Anne Steele Fortune Hinshaw (Mark), great-grandchildren, Thomas Robertson Whitehurst, James Cooper Whitehurst, Leila Havens Hinshaw and Samuel Patrick Hinshaw and her brother Daniel Bartlett Searcy, Jr. (Cherry).

Services will be held at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 132 North 10th Street, Griffin, Georgia at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2015 and interment in Oak Hill Cemetery.
