Mrs. Linda Annette Jenkins Fortney

Mrs. Fortney was born December 26, 1943 in Lagrange, GA daughter of the late Lester M. Jenkins, Sr. and Minnie Belle Jenkins. She was schooled in LaGrange and East Point. She was, in turn, a homemaker, manager of Shoney’s of Griffin for a decade and was a retired senior baker at Wal-mart.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, W.J. (Bill) Fortney; daughters, Aura Tamson Fortney Russell (Ashley) of Milner, Margaret Annette Fortney Ashley (Rev. Eric) of Macon, Rebecca Belle Fortney of Griffin; sisters, Ruby J. (Donald) Hemmings of Riverdale, Betty Joyce Chason of San Antonio, TX and L. Marshall Jenkins, Jr. of Tucker; sister-in-law, Margaret Sibley (Dr. Felix) of Thomasville and numerous nephews and nieces; grandchildren, Jacob Russell of Milner, Nathan, Naomi, Jude and Sam Ashley of Macon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Annette Jenkins Fortney will be held Friday, May 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Eric Ashley will officiate. Interment will be at 4:30 p.m. in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
