Mrs. Margaret N Norton Bottoms

Mrs. Bottoms was born October 1, 1916 in Coweta County, GA, daughter of the late Marvin E. and Carrie Biles Norton. She was employed at H.V. Kell Company and American Mills as bookkeeper for thirty-five years. She was an active member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, serving as Director of the Women’s Missionary Union, Senior Citizens Group, and Bereavement Program. She also served as Sunday School Secretary for thirty-seven years and was a member of the adult choir, Faith Bible Sunday School Class and Church Training Class. Mrs. Bottoms was preceded in death by sisters, Faye Hand of Griffin, Lillian McClendon of Stockbridge, Emily Sweatman of Charleston, S.C. and brothers, M.E. Norton, Jr. of Griffin and Phil Norton of Fort Wayne, IN.

Survivors include one sister, Boyd N. Pruitt of Charleston, S.C.; sister-in-law, Catharine Norton of Fort Wayne, IN and loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret N. Bottoms will be held Friday, March 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Oak Hill Mausoleum. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
