Mary Sue Heflin

Mrs. Heflin was born July 28, 1917 in Zebulon, daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Hawkins and the late Mary Louise Buffington Hawkins. She was a member of the Griffin First United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Heflin was also preceded in death by her husband, Lyndon “Sam” Heflin; brothers, Troy Hawkins and Hilton Hawkins and sister, Jewell Berry.

Survivors include daughter & son-in-law, Lynda & Bill Watts of South Carolina; son, Jesse “Sammy” Heflin of Griffin; grandchildren, Jennifer Bell, Kevin Watts, Stephen Watts, Jesse Heflin and Betsy Shultz. Numerous great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Heflin will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Rev. Lewis James will officiate. Interment will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
