

Mr. Stephens was born December 9, 1932 in Griffin, GA, son of the late Eudohn and Emma Kate Stephens. He attended Auburn University and was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean conflict aboard the USS Shelikof.
Mr. Stephens retired after 32 years at Georgia Federal Bank as vice-president of branch operations. He was a member of the Griffin First United Methodist Church, serving on various committees and past president of the Men’s Bible Class. He was also a past president of the Atlanta Airport Kiwanis Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judy Diane Stephens, a sister, Gerry Stephens Sims, and a brother, Elbert E. Stephens.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Charlsey L. Stephens, son and daughter-in-law, Anthony Ray Stephens and Cindy of Griffin, and daughter and son-in-law, Dana Stephens Sullivan and Chris of Libertyville, IL; grandchildren, Samantha, Adam, Disa and Malcolm; brother-in-law, Terry W. Lynch of Denver, CO, sister-in-law, Pat A. Lynch of Rome, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. V. Ray Stephens will be conducted Monday, July 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Med Roach and the Rev. Kevin Barnes will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family would like for members of the Men’s Bible Class and the Young at Heart to sit together in a group. The family will receive visitors Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Haisten McCullough Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 1401 Maple Dr., Griffin, GA. 30224 in memory of Mr. Stephens or to the charity of your choice.
