Aileene Fischer

DETROIT, MI - Aileene Fischer, 87, most recently of Seashore Gardens Living Center in Galloway, NJ, previously of Detroit, MI, died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 18 at Charity Lutheran Church in Detroit, MI. Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 PM, Monday, January 17 at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Warren, MI and one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Garden of Good Shepherd, Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park in Livonia, MI. Memorials may be directed to the Children's Hospital of Detroit. Aileene was born February 16, 1923 in Nortonville, KY to Sam and Eula (Mitchell) Johnson. She graduated from high school in Detroit and married Mr. Oscar James Rashid in 1940. He gave his life during WWII. She married Mr. Robert F. Fischer Jr. in 1950. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and was a successful wife and mother. She served in her Church in various capacities and was a life-long, devout Christian. She is survived by her four children, Sharon Rashid Cronin (Clint) of New Braunfels, TX, George Michael Rashid of Detroit/Flint, MI, Rev. Robert F. Fischer III (Vary) of Absecon, NJ and Jeanne Fischer Gillette (Mike) of Sterling Heights, MI, six grandchildren, Brian Cronin (Jenny), Michelle and Michael Rashid, Karen Fischer, Julie Fischer Avenant (Willem) and Daniel Kapo and her three great grandchildren, Steven F. Kapo, Olivia Elaine Cronin and Meredith Alice Cronin. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ernie Johnson, first husband, P.F.C. Oscar James Rashid (U. S. Army-WWII), second husband, Robert F. Fischer, Jr. and grandchild, Steven A. Kapo.
