Alice Trinity Czekaj

Alice Trinity Czekaj was born in Brownsville, Texas the daughter of John and Mary (nee Austin) Givens. She married Albert Czekaj and together they raised four children. Alice never drove and was a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed cooking, baking and travel. A favorite activity was taking road trips visiting family in Texas and throughout the country. Most of her time was devoted to raising her children and keeping house. She was a decades-long member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores. Alice and Albert were married 60 loving years until his death in 2003. Mrs. Czekaj is survived by her children John (Betty) Czekaj, Joyce Leahy (Patrick), Judy Eckenboy (Russ) and Janet Czekaj. Four grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchilden also survive her. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Albert. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2 until 9 pm with a Rosary 7 pm at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods. Mrs. Czekaj will lie in state on Monday from 9:30 am until time of Mass 10 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack, St. Clair Shores. The family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society.
