

Allen Thomas Danzey, age 95 of Warren, passed away on December 30, 2015. He was born in Loraine, Ohio on February 11, 1920; the son of Coleman and Josephine Elizabeth (nee Bozone) Danzey. Allen was a graduate of West Tech High School in Cleveland, Ohio. At the age of 19, he received a telegram from the government to report to the Cleveland office of Department of Transportation. He started his 38 years of dedicated service in the U.S. Coast Guard as a stenographer before being promoted to Marine Inspector where he worked in St. Louis, Missouri, Louisville, Kentucky and Cinninati, Ohio. His final title, in Detroit, Michigan was Documentation and Measurement Officer, before retiring from Civil Service in 1977. Very shortly after marrying his true love and best friend, June, his new position carried his new family to Warren, Michigan in September of 1972. Allen was a longtime member of the Sons of the American Legion originating from his grandfather's service during the Civil War. He also volunteered for Meals on Wheels for 15 years following his retirement. "Big Al" was an avid bowler having achieved a 300 game. He loved crossword puzzles, jeopardy, visits to the casinos, spending time with his family; anything that utilized his sharp wit and active spirit. His adventures even took him on a wild boar hunting trip on one of their many winter stays in Gulf Shore, Alabama. Allen is dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Beloved husband of June for 43 years. Loving father of Vikki (Paul) Bowers, Laurie (Gary) Kamyszek, Deborah Taylor, Terry (Jerry) Hebert, Dwight Taylor and Julie Taylor. Treasured grandfather of 14 and proud "GG" of 13. Dear brother of the late Coleman Danzey, Francis Danzey and Harry Danzey. Allen is also survived by many caring nieces and nephews. Allen's family will receive friends on Sunday, January 3rd from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren. A service for Allen will be held on Monday, January 4th at 12-Noon. Chaplain Marty Bentley will officiate. Interment to immediately follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East Cemetery in Clinton Township.
