Rupert was born on November 25, 1989, in Detroit, Michigan, to Andrea Jones and Lou Kemp. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Andrea Jones, and his beloved grandmother, Elaine Jones, both of whom he loved dearly and whose memories he carried with him throughout his life.
Rupert leaves to cherish his memory his father, Lou Kemp; his sisters, Maji Kemp-Foster, Jasmine Jones, and Elaine Jones; his brothers, Joshua Jones and Jeremy Jones; his special friend, Stephen Parker; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends who loved him beyond measure.
Rupert worked at 24 Hour Flood Pros, where he was respected, appreciated, and loved by his coworkers. He took pride in his work and built lasting friendships everywhere he went.
Rupert was a spiritual man who loved talking about God. Whether he was sharing a word of encouragement, a testimony, or simply reminding someone to keep the faith, he never hesitated to speak about God’s goodness. His faith was a guiding force in his life and something he freely shared with others.
If you knew Rupert, you knew he was the life of the party. He had a way of making everybody laugh, feel welcome, and enjoy themselves. He never met a stranger and could turn any gathering into a good time. His energy was contagious, and his presence could light up any room.
More than anything, Rupert loved his family. He shared a special and unique bond with each of his nieces and nephews and was much more than an uncle—he was a father figure, protector, mentor, and friend. He took pride in being present in their lives, offering guidance, support, laughter, and unconditional love. His nieces and nephews knew they could always count on Uncle Rupert to show up, cheer them on, and make them feel special.
Among all the children he loved so dearly, Bella held a special place in his heart and was truly the light of his life. The bond they shared was one filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. The joy on Rupert’s face whenever Bella was around was undeniable, and the love he had for her was immeasurable.
Rupert loved music, family gatherings, and making memories with the people he loved. He was always ready to get on the grill while his sister prepared all the sides, bringing everyone together through food, laughter, and love. Those moments will forever remain in the hearts of those who shared them with him.
To know Rupert was to love him. His smile, his humor, his generosity, and his big heart touched countless lives. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we are grateful for the years, memories, and love he gave so freely.
Rupert’s legacy will live on through every life he touched, every laugh he shared, every lesson he taught, and every person who was blessed enough to know him.
