Kara and Kristen,  I have wonderful memories of your Mom from spending SO much time at your house in high school. Your Mom was the best, always so warm and welcoming to me. Her Sunday dinners were amazing, such a feast! I still remember prime rib and Yorkshire pudding and pasta (with no guilt, Sunday was a free day). Your Mom was elegant and beautiful inside and out.   I’m blessed to have the chance to give and get a hug from her recently. She looked beautiful and made me laugh remembering the ugly “blue dress” Lisa and I regifted back and forth.   My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family during this sad time. May you be comforted knowing that she is with Lisa and your Dad in heaven.

Every single dancer who walks through the door of 20945 Mack Avenue each week owes Mrs. Kennedy a debt of gratitude, whether they know it or not. What a wonderful legacy she leaves for the next generation. We will always remember her!

My life was forever changed, for the better, the moment I stepped foot into that studio. I am incredibly grateful for the amazing Mrs. Kennedy. She taught me more than dance. She instilled in me a confidence and belief in myself. She gave me support and opened a world of opportunity. She will be forever in my heart. My sincerest sympathies and prayers for your family. May the angels greet her with song and dance!

Angela truly was a great lady, a real class act. She was such an important part of Bree’s education and success. She has supported her all along the way. She will be remembered for her beauty, grace and wonderful sense of humor.

In 1977 a friend asked me if I would take an adult ballet class with her in Grosse Pointe. Although I danced as a child, I never took ballet. I wasn’t thrilled to go, but had nothing better to do that night. Little did I know at the time, that my life was about to change forever. My friend lasted two classes.  I never left.  Angie was more than a teacher to me. She was my mentor. A second mother. Most importantly, my best friend for over forty years. She took me into her house and her family, and made me feel like I’d always belonged. Her daughters were sisters to me, and she became a grandmother to my children.  She taught me everything I know, and I would not be who I am without her influence. My students would not be the dancers they are without her influence. She was tough, she was generous, she was smart, and in her eyes I could do not wrong (well except maybe procrastinating….which I’m still working on.)  While the loss of her is painful, I know she’s still with me in everything I do. I will always be grateful for her guidance, her vision, her trust, and her love.

Such a lovely lady. Always so sweet. Sorry to all of you.   Angela, Katie, Joey, you made her life beautiful.

Kara and Kristen  They say it takes a village and your childhood home was my village. I have so many memories of Lisa and spending time at your house. It was my second home for much of my grade school years and your mom was my second mom.   Always beautiful and always kind, I love thinking of your mom’s beautiful voice at mass.   I still think about my time with your family on Andros Island every time I hear Proud Mary. I don’t know if you remember, but it was the only 45 album we had to play. We must have listened to it 1000 times.   I’m sorry I will not be able to make it to her memorial mass. I will send up a prayer.   Love to you all as you celebrate a beautiful life.
