Anna Bommarito joined her Lord, His angels and saints in heaven on February 3, 2018 at the age of 97 years. Born to the late Pasquale and Lucia Bommarito in their Detroit home on May 26, 1920, Anna attended Catholic grade and high schools before working with her parents in their market, and then at Chrysler for many years. In her retirement, Anna spent time with her family and enjoyed any and all work outdoors, particularly gardening her tomatoes and caring for the roses that encircled her statue of the Blessed Mother. A longtime resident of St. Clair Shores, Anna also enjoyed many summers on Hubbard Lake as well as winters in Naples, Florida. When home, she could always be relied upon to supply milk and cookies (or cannoli) to her family who stopped by to visit. Anna was the eldest of 5 Bommarito siblings, the late Johnny (Pearl), Nick (and his late wife, Mary), the late Stella (Nick Kudla), and Josephine (and her late husband, Lawrence Mlynarek). Annas favorite picture was taken before her sister Josephines wedding, and included herself, her parents and siblings in their 1955 best. "Auntie Annie" will also be lovingly remembered by her sister Stellas children, Nick (Denise) Kudla and Mary Lou (Daniel Baki) and her sister Josephines sons, Lawrence (Fran), Richard, John, and Robert (Wendy) Mlynarek. Her beloved great-nieces and great-nephews, Allyson, Amanda, Anthony, Daniel (Chelsea), Heidi (Scott), Jennifer (Chris), Kathryn, Laura, Marisa (David), Maria, Michael (Alaina-Faye), Nicholas, and Nicolle, will also remember her fondly. In her later years, "Auntie Annie" also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her youngest family members, great-great nieces and nephews Cecelia, Emma, Gracelyn, Isaiah, Lexi, Rowan, Sadie, Silas, and Zoey. Visitation Tuesday, February 6, 2018, 5-9pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue (at Vernier Road), Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, with a rosary service at 7pm. Funeral mass Wednesday, February 7, 2018, 12 noon at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Mack Avenue, St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Family will be traveling after the mass to Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, Mi.
