

Annis William Gaynor passed away on September 1, 2017 at the age of 89. He was born on August 28, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan; son of William and Janet (nee Kattar) Gaynor. Mr. Gaynor was a furrier and owner of New York Furs in downtown Detroit for over 40 years. On August 30th 1958, Annis married Juanita Groff at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Woods. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage together. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his wife. Annis is survived by his loving wife Juanita. He was proud of his daughters Alice (Thomas) Naski, and Evelyn (Michael) Pentis. He adored his grandchildren Matthew (Shelley), James, Nicole, and Jonathan. He leaves behind his siblings Alice, Marie, Janet, Ronald, Rosie, and Emily. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings Edward, Joseph, Raymond, and Ruth. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. A Rosary will be recited under the auspices of the Knights of Columbus at 7:00 pm. Mr. Gaynor will lie instate on Tuesday from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 467 Fairford Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Monsignor Gary Smetenka will officiate. Interment will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit. Donations to Society of St. Vincent Du Paul or the Judson Center.
