Barbara Rach passed away October 9, 2015 at the age of 76. She was beloved wife of the late William Rach. Barbara was the loving mother of Amy Gaglio (Joe) and the doting grandmother of Antonio, Dominic, and Alisa. Her sisters Laura McDougall and Janet Rivas (George) also survive her. Barbara was a member of core group of childhood friends who would enjoy each other's company going to casinos, trips and yearly excursions to Caseville. She was a proud member of the Harper Woods High School class of 1957 where she served as class vice president. Barbara enjoyed all sports, loved her Tigers and Lions. She was a bowler and also skied. She liked to watch Jeopardy, playing trivia games and word searches. She loved the holidays, Christmas being her favorite. She would decorate her house for all of the holidays. Barb would present her family bags of candy, the type determined by the holiday. She would always have gift bags for her school friends and family. Bowls of candy could be found around her house, Kit Kats, chocolates, hard candies. Her granddaughter Alisa affectionately called her "Candy Grandma" Memorial visitation Thursday November 5, from 2-7 pm at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. A memorial service will take place at 7 pm.
